Ok Mine as been actting up for a couple days now that it has been colder and rainy... . First thing in the Morning, after letting the truck sit all night... Battery Voltage is Low and is sluggish cranking over but starts... . anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds the Alternator jumps right up and charges like normal. It is fine the rest of the day without issues... . Are my batterys Dying on me? or do I have a drain somewhere?

Thanks

Rick

In cold weather, the intake grid heaters kick in when the ignition is first switched on, and continues to cycle using heavy amperage for a few miles/minutes - this can drain weak batteries pretty quickly. Other than that, a few random devices in the truck do pull small amounts of power even when the truck isn't running - they also can pull down weak batteries. If your batteries are the originals, you might want to spring for a new pair - I just bought a new pair for my '02 because they too were displaying signs of weakness...

Not sure if they are orginals or not, just bought the truck 3 weeks ago... I have some brand new MT31 Group size batterys at my Shop... Maybe they will fit???

Thanks

Rick

Fall is the season most batteries take a dump in, sounds like you are getting the warning signs of impending failure.
