Out of the clear blue last week the CEL came on for the 1st time ever. 65,000 miles on the ticker. Checked codes and there was a 237, and 602. Cleared the codes and light came on right away again. The only code that came back was is 237. I did check the ground connections and the terminal at the MAP sensor which seemed ok.
Today I cleared the codes and took SMARTY off of #7 and set it to #2 due to I had to haul 3000 lbs of stone. The SMARTY has been on #7 been for the last 2 years. Truck runs flawlessly whether the CEL is on or not. As soon as I left the house today the CEL comes on and drive about 45 miles, load (squat) the truck, take off with the load and the light goes out. The light so far has stayed off driving the 45 miles to get home and unload. I haven't checked but I'm sure the the 237 will be set due to the light being on... Why driving loaded caused the CEL to go out???
I'm wondering if the MAP sensor was loaded up with soot or something causing the light to come on prior to today. Like maybe hauling cleaned it out???
I was going to replace the MAP sensor but having reservations now. Has anyone out there had an experience like this?
