Weird dome light issue

Hi all,



Just this past week my 2006 QC CTD started doing something pretty strange with the dome lights. It seems that when I open my door (any of the 4) the dome lights go on for only about 2 or 3 seconds before turning off while the door(s) are still open. I have gone so far as to adjust the dimmer switch all the way to the up position to make the dome lights stay on but that still only keeps them on for a few seconds then they shut off. When I close any door, the lights go back on for another 3 seconds or so before they shut off.



Its like this thing is possessed. Anyone else experience this? Any ideas?

Yea, has happened to others. Disconnect the batteries for 30 minutes. This resets the cabin control module.

I have heard of some of trucks doing this and it was repaired by a flash of the cabin compartment nodeby the dealer by tsb #08-026-06 Rev A.

Mine did the same. I tried dissconecting the battary. Left it off for almost a hr but didnt do anything. Ended up having the dealer fix it while it was in for other warrenty work

Thanks for the info all. I unplugged my batteries for about a half hour and so far so good. My lights are once again behaving normally. If this happens again, Ill be taking it up with the dealer.
