I am experiencing something unusual. When I park I go in reverse and from dead stop with the wheels turned all the way left, I hear a loud squeal.

It started recently(last couple of weeks), and only happens when I go back in reverse, and only with the wheels all the way to the left. I thought it will go away, but it doesn't. Today I went to a friend of mine to check it out, he is a car mechanic, but there was no noise. The truck sat there long time though, so it was completely cold. I tried driving around the block few times, but no luck, I was surprised. And because he could not hear anything ,my friend said to come another time, hopefully he'll hear it. I was annoyed.

When I got home I thought about it and it came to me- it happened always, all the time, but all this time I was driving before that, at least 15 miles, with many stops. So it must be related to enough heat.

But why only in reverse, and why only when wheels are to the left? It seems to me it is coming from front right wheel.

I had my front rotors turned and pads changed with new pads from NAPA, about 10000mi. ago. I do not like the pads - a lot of squeal, dust and not good stopping power. . I think I'm going to replace those anyway, so I'm going to look for a good pad. I looked and everything seems to be fine around both front wheels. Please give me your opinions and advise.

Take a good look at the inside of the wheels. Look for shiny metal. It's possible that when you turn hard left the wheel is rubbing something. Also check the brake rotors for the same thing. Look at the front suspension parts for shiny metal, too.

Good luck,

Scott

Thanks, I will look for metel shining. I just do not get it, that only happens after driving, and may stops. I has to be heat related.
