Matt,

I know what you mean. I commented to my buddy one night about this magical and mysterious odor.

He says "It's just cheap perfume"

I said " It dosen't smell cheap at all" :p

Diesel fumes smell good, but they smell even better when blended with the normal railroad right-of-way odors (creosote, tar, steel, smoking high-compososition brakes shoes, well you get the picture!).

well, i do like the smell of the above on a hot day... [get that at work every day - however, the raw #2 fuel at work smells odd to me... ]

the smell you get on a crisp fall day when you stand in a pine tree grove...

vanilla hinted perfume on a lady...

7014 welding rod flux burning...

cedar lumber section at home depot...

fresh ink smell you have when you unwrap a new pressing CD [with all the downloading happening, this probably would be new to some :-laf]...

Fresh cut hay, drying hay, oh, and that PB Penetrating Oil stuff. It's a shop necessity that also smells good. Diesel is a good smell too.
Nothing like a big old barn filled with hay, especially alfafa. Besides the smell of a barn filled with animals, once the morning greetings are out of the way and everyone is fed, then all is quiet. Except that is for that methodic munching.

Cattle barns that use wood shavings for bedding, diesel fumes on a cold day, fresh cut hay, freshly turned over soil ie. disc ing

(heres a strange on) the cleaning solution they use on you when doing a Tatoo, warm Rotella T oil ,
