2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Weird very weird

Don't know if any one has heard of this or not. I have a 99 not sure of the build date right now but I found out today after 4 attempts to get a licence plate light that my 99 has a 2000 wiring harness. I remember also that timthetoolman noticed something different about my truck when I was at a coffee night but my poor little brain cant remember what it was. Do any of you know of any other 99's with a different harness or anything else.

It would figure I would end up with a freak truck lol.

The same harness/light assembly for the license plate lights (P/N 56018807 License lamps - Wire harness 1994 - 2002) is used on all second generation Rams.

How is your model year 1999 Ram supposed to differ from model year 2000?

I had a very similiar problem a couple years ago. Both my license plate lights broke. I went and got a set from the dealer in MT where I was at the time. The light end looked right, but the end with the plug was wrong. I took them back, along with the broken one from my truck. The dealer looked up every year he could and came with up the same part every time. But none of them would fit the plug I had on my truck????

I gave up and just soldered the damn plug on the new license plate harnesses.

Both my 96 and 01 have the same plate light plugs and the replacements are wrong. I also cut and soldered the old plugs to the new lights.

Hey Doug whats up bud? I remember lookin at your rig and it wasn't that. I think we made a stink about you having the upgraded '02 7 way and 4 flat trailer plug thingy which I thought was cool.

I tried three different replacements for the lights finally the parts guy looked either in the book on on the computer and found that the "2000" lights have the same plug. If any one else has a problem like this they might wana ask for them.



Tim if my memory serves right I think it was something to do with the speakers or something. Sorry it took so long to get back just got home from a little road trip to KS and back. As soon as I get the 03 track bar in and get her aligned im gana make it back out for some coffee. Oo.
