This is in Firefox ESR 52.9.0 (64-bit) on Debian. Hmmm, it's OK on Chrome. Prolly a FireFox oddity then; it does have enough of them over time.
Guess it's time I switched back to chromium for a while. FF seems to be back to displaying something weird instead of certain specific icons on many sites, and I can no longer use the right 'menu' key to enter certain unicode shortcuts.

- Start a fresh browser/session to the home page.
- Go to the forums.
- Scroll down.
- For me, the 'mark read' menu doesn't stay visible.
- Hit <F5> to refresh.
- Now the menu seems to remain.
