bedliner question

Goose Neck to 5th Wheel Adapter?

Just an update... ... ... I went and had the hitch installed. I opted for the welding since I very much trust the installer and never had any problems with my previous welded installation. He did a very good job.

As for why he welds? He told me that it is actually faster (if you know what you're doing) to weld then to drill the frame and bolt. There are less bolts to retorque every year, and he claims it is stronger (when done properly) than bolting.

His welders are certified, and he builds and repairs trailers as his ONLY line of work. He repairs trailers for SBC and So Cal Edison, so somebody trusts his work.

As for the 2003 and up? He says the holes are already in the frame for the brackets and bolt through is a breeze. Niether Dodge nor Reese/Drawtite reccomend welding to an 03 and the instruction reflect that.
