Kind of quiet lately

I am looking at a flatbed for my truck and was wandering about welding on the bed after it is atached to the truck? has anyone welded on ther truck before? does it screw up the computer or other electrical stuff? any hints will be appreciated. thanks ET

thanks for that link, it looks like a battery disconection is in order as well as unhook the computer for extra safety. thanks ET

Also make sure you put the ground close to the place you are welding.

Don't put the ground at one end of the truck and weld on the other. That will smoke boards even with the batteries unhooked, because they are still grounded. We have to weld on compressor packages with PLC panels and computer controlled ignition systems, sometimes the guys smoke-em even when they are unhooked (not moving their ground leads).
