Welding table

Sorry my welding table is covered with (PLANTS) hahaha Girlfriend said your not bring that in here! It took her about 15 minutes to cover the table to put plants on it. Ok I wanted mine to be very well built. I used ( all items I think) 2 1/2" 1/4" tube with 3/4" steel feet drilled and taped for 3/4" bolts for adjusting the table for level. Part of the requirements was to be able break the table down for packing and moving it. The main frame was 2"x4"x1/8" tube. It was 5'x2' I divided the 5 ft and used 2 cross members. The leg brackets were 3'x3'x3/16" angle for bolting the legs to the table, I did cross bolt the legs. I should have had shims in there for the welding pulling into the legs. ( I don't know 20/1000" shims) I used Gr 5 1/2" bolts. I put 2x3" x3/16"angle supporting the Record vice. I was hoping to find a swivel for the base but no luck to date. I have the vise sitting far enought forward so that I can put sumething down to the floor. Mounted about a foot from the one end. I have #10 (1/8") sheet on the top welded down to the top. If anything I should have had the legs alittle shorter they were alright till I put the bolts in there for adjusting the table. I am quit happy with it and will be using it for the Topkick truck soon to come!

Mine is 3ft X 4ft 1/2 plate for the top. Frame is 2x2x1/4 wall sq tubing. It is 6" smaller than the top plate so "C" clamps can be used on the edge easier. It has 4 legs down to the bottom frame which has only 3 sides. The "Front" is left open so I can sit and TIG weld small parts easier. I made mine approx 34" high from the ground.

I'll attempt to get a picture of mine here.

Built it out of scrap around the garage except for the top. I use flux-core wire right now but you'll notice the chains on the right side for bottles. The shelves were from the cart I bought for the welder. This was a lot of fun to build. I also built a small treiler for behind a motorcycle. I'll post those pics too if anyone is interested.

That's a 1/4" top on my bench. I mention this as I see the recommendation is 3/4". That 2' x 4' top cost me $108. Can't imagine what a 3/4" would be.

I have a small table for home and a huge one at the shop. The home table is just a 3x4 1/2" plate. I welded floor flanges to the underside for some threaded 3" legs that are 2 foot high. I made it for a little breakdown table I can use at home for small jobs, so that it doesn't take up any space at home when not in use. The threaded legs are nice so that I can position and level it as needed. It's not big, but it's a good little home table. The table at our shop is as big as you'd ever need for anything, so this works for a good home table for me. No pictures though.

Nothing fancy but this was a blast to build. When all was said and done I had a little over $1000 in it. I built this one with a rack on the front for a cooler. The lights were originally going to be on the bumper but my buddy wanted them higher up. Not sure if I am totally jazzed with it but it does have a certain cool-factor to it!
