I've been pushing my 35 for some time now, not to mention my head gasket. I recently bought a 14cm wastegated exhaust housing, in hopes to cool my egt's and reduce drive pressure. (havn't installed yet)

On a mustang dyno i made 348hp-822ft/Lbs. at around 38psi.

EGT's are uncontrollable over 2800rpm.

I'm just wondering how much a housing will help me.

Also This summer i'll be looking for a different charger, possibly a Super B special or similar unit.

I would appreciate any and all input. I'm sure there are quite a few others out there, pushing their 35's to the limits, looking for budget upgrades, also.

CVasa, Welcome to TDR

We are pretty close on power. I just dyno'd yesterday at 355hp and 777 ft-lb torque with my setup (w/o meth). although you do have a bigger (215) pump and DV's. My injectors are a little larger. My egt's are also pegging the gage and I'm on the stock turbo pushing 40 psi.

Heres a post that has some info on turbo selections:

I still have not desided on what to get. I've heard of a guy close by to me that builds turbo's from the shop I dyno'd at. I plan to visit with him and see what he recomends. I would like to hear what your 14cm housing does for your temps & spoolup. Is your exhaust open? Size? Where is you plate positioned?

PS: KDP also got me a couple of months ago with only 73K on the OD.

I run the 14cm on mine. spools like stock pretty much. Temps still get way hot. With the combination of the 14cm (with a banks WG actuator), and the dodgezilla compressor, I can still peg the pyro pretty easily.

Before the 370's, it would still get hot with just a 10 . 030 foward (350hp or so... ).

With the injectors and other junk (546hp), it gets really hot.

spool is incredible though. and I have the wastegate pretty loose, and boost elbow open as far as it will go and it still hits 40-42 psi pretty easy.

what kind of machine work is required to fit the 6 blade 60mm compressor on the hx35. some kind of clearancing of the bearing race?

must i send it in to htt or can my local machine shop do the work?

Also what kind of gains can i expect from the compressor upgrade, and which exhaust housing should i try first.

I upgraded my HX35 with the new 7 blade Super 40 housing and wheel. The wheel is 4035879 and the housing is 4039617. I got them from Gillett Diesel Service. It came with the directions for machining and I had it performed by a local machine shop. It only required increasing the pocket diameter behind the wheel. I am still running a 12cm exhaust housing. After I added a needle valve on the boost line, (same results as the boost elbow), my EGT gets to 1300 at 36psi.
