Well, decided I've GOT to have power seats on my '01.9......

sat in an '02 with dual power seats tonight, and they are FAR better, for me, than my currently manual one's with 0 back support. I would much rather go thru Dodge/Mopar than junkyard. A question- Approximatly how much will this cost for both seats? ~$1k? I will be installing leather when I do this on my own, so y'all think I can get the 2 seats without upholstry? Anybody done this, or have any advice? Thanks for any and all help!

I think you are going to find the prices (each piece is sold separately) will be beyond reason. I priced a seat bottom for my '99 for pass side only and it was over $300.



You would probably have to go the junk yard route, by finding a late model recycler with a computer locator. Since you are going to recover the seats your self, color won't matter. The other option is sell your current truck and buy a new one set up the way you want it.

I had to have the power seat track replaced on my '98. 5 under warranty (the only warranty problem I have ever had). The price for the entire power seat track assembly (the only way it is sold) was $1350. ... and that was in 1999!!!! If you are bankrolling that deal yourself you had better go to the bone yard to find one or be prepared to bend over and backup.

Watch E-bay. I got a set of power leather seats in the right color for less than the power seat bottom assembly cost listed above. Learn how to (if you don't already) set up a search that e-mails you when something in the category is on the board. Good Luck. Took me a year to find a set, but I like my 96.

Check the Classifieds

Check the TDR classifieds, there was an ad for drivetrains, engines etc. that stated that they were parting out several trucks. The location was in wisconsin I think.



Shipping will be peanuts wherever you find the seats, compared to paying the dealer to ship them in!



I agree, the power seats are wonderful, if you are in a cold climate, get the heated ones.



I love my electric leather butt warmers!!

I'm kicking myself too for not getting power seats in my '00. Anytime I take long trips my back kills me. I've taken it back and complained to the dealer about no back support,and they replaced both seat cushions but it didn't make a difference.



I wish Dodge never got rid of the lumbar support adjuster that the manual seats use to have(94-97). My '95 has the manual seats too,but it has the lumbar support which makes it nice on my back during long trips.

If you would like I will see if a set of new, in the crate, set of power, heated leather, agate seats are still available. A guy had them still plastic wrapped and wanted $1000 for the Quadcab set. They are Dodge factory 2001 SLT + seat assemblies. They were available for considerably less, though some dealers want your old seats as an exchange. Supply has now dried up since the model change, most are going for $900 to $1100. Not sure how you would get them to Georgia though, they are the complete with front seatbelts, console, frame and are HEAVY. I put a set of 2000 SLT + seats in my '98 and found a huge improvement in comfort. Wife like the passenger side power too.



I have a full set of the leather replacement kit, like the dealers use when a customer wants leather. I purchased these to convert my cloth seats to leather but then found the new seat assembly. Full set front and rear for a quad cab with door inserts and console.

They are gray color,not agate but new and good quality. I should sell them, sort of forgot about them until now. Ebay sells leather too, haven't checked lately.
