So I finally went and bought one,Ordered from Dave Smith one fully loaded quad cab long bed one ton. I got everything and then some. Now I have to wait which is gonna suck. But it gives me a chance to get out of my 2006 F350 6. 0 liter crew(yes 06) Should have bought the Dodge in the first place. Took my wife out in the Ford and she looks at me while towing and says is this truck gonna make it :--) So I reminded her you wanted the Ford and not the Dodge she replies get rid of this piece of  So Finally a cummins motor for me. I had to tell somebody about this no one around here knows how thrilled I am. Well anyways time wait

That's too funny :)

Too funny. I'm glad you bought a real truck.

My g/f hates Fords, she wouldn't let me buy one if I even wanted to. (Not possible, unless it had a Cummins in it)

fireman717: Welcome! I have a 97 Ford F350 4x4, ZF 5 speed that I want to slip a 24v Cummins into. The whole 24v HPCR/ NV5600 conversion is $9k... Thats a whole lotta bucks, but well worth it!

Yes I saw the conversion deals out there and that si what I should have done with my old Ford 99 7. 3 but I wanted some more creature comforts. But that would be cool a Ford with a Cummins motor in it.

Congrats on the order sir, but wow, hope you aren't taking too much of a beating on the Ford, nothing bending over and grabbing the ankles once you drive off the lot...

hey if you get tired of your g/f ill take her i can't hardly find a girl around here that likes dodge its either ford or chevy or both and only a few like diesels it sucks

fireman717 congrats on the new truck smart trade hope you arent loosing to much on the deal

yeah but its worth it in the long run to have a good reliable truck that hey when your kids are ready it would be a good first truck for them

Congrats on your Cummins, Fireman717. I spent some time in a couple of Fords recently too. I had a brand new 05 F250 6. 0L. Good truck, but I got worried about all the puking and EGR problems people were having so I traded it for an 02 7. 3L. I liked driving the 7. 3 better than the 6. 0. Both were 6 speeds and the 7. 3 feels a lot more like a diesel should. When I found the 12-valve I'd been wanting I had to trade off the 7. 3. Nothing compares to inline power!

You won't go wrong with Dave Smith. It was by far the best experience I've ever had purchasing a new vehicle, and at the right price. Could not come close to DS's price here in Cal. Was worth the trip.
