I finally ordered a stack kit... . a 5 inch flat top single Grand Rock kit. :-laf I know everyone says once your stacked you'll never go back. Hopefully I won't regret it.

ENJOY!

I just have to figure out how to put on my winter cap with them and I'll take the plunge too!!

You can buy a 4" exhaust cut out & just flip the switch when you want to run the cap. You would only have to take the stacks off first before installing the cap.

4" cutout..

Hmmmm,

Sounds like a workable solution... now to wait for the snow to melt a bit. .

I hope to find some 5" SS stacks I can afford. .

Question to those who have them from one who does not... Do the open stacks have a problem with rain or other weather??

You must be talking about the soot shower from time to time. Yea, you will get that. I got one the other nite everything was really cold out and it had snowed, I started the truck up and the snow turned from white to black as it was falling. The black stuff was everywhere. I was a little ticked off to say the least. But i wouldn't take the stacks off for anything though, the sound can not be duplicated anyway.

From what I have been told, the flat top and the mitres have trouble with water... you can drill a small hole in the elbow under the bed for a drain. Turnouts and bull haulers are a little better for that issue.

I sale and install Grand ROCK stacks here. The water will run out at your flex connection drilling a hole would only let the water out faster. The problem is when the soot in the stacks gets wet and blow out on your truck. Rain Caps or covers would be best keeping the inside dry from top to bottom.

Grand Rock kits are certainly the way to go. I had some stack covers made especially for this problem of keep the rain/moisture from getting down in your stack and the covering your truck. I've got some pics of them if anybody's interested in seeing the covers or installed stacks.

I will have a set done here in a few days for the guys love custom stuff for there trucks show and shine guys! I will get a picture soon there done.

Buddy of mine has mitres, looks sweet. He puts small plastic pails on top when he stops or when he's done for the day. Just have to remember to put them on and take them off.

Well it came today... took about 2 1/2 hrs or so. What a pain in the *&% to cut through the bed that was. I still need to do some tweaking in the morning, but it sounds mean.
