Stopped this afternnon on way home to fuel up, shut truck down, fueled and went inside to give up the better pat of a c-note. Came out, started trucka nd put in drive than it stalled, looked up at fp guage and it read 0. Well I thought I was low and I just made it in on fumes, so I cranked and listend for lp, nothing. Took out tools and pulled bleader nothing again, loosened the bleeder some more. Cranked again, nothing. Took extension and socket and hit lp. (hey it works on starters), and was rewarded with bath of fuel from bleeder. I apparently only had 1/2 thread in. After search for cap, got her running and headed for home, with eyes gluded on fp guage. pressure never got above 9psi but never back to 0. I did notice at traffic lights guage was fluctating, never done that before. Well I got home and was ready to put on spare... ... ... ... but remembered I gave it to a freind that was stuck a few months ago. He did say he would replace it but after a short phone call he apparently forgot. So i guess tomorrow i will have to visit cummins and change it out. Is there any tricks I need to know besides pulling filter housing out of the way?

I'm glad you posted because it reminds me that I need to get a spare myself.
What should I expect to pay for one? A local shop has them for about $100 on the shelf. Where can I get one cheaper? Any help here would be appreciated.

I wish I knew the trick about the filter removal..... 100 is cheap for a LP I paid 140 for my new one and 120 (off ebay) for my backup

The 3 studs that mount the pump to the bracket are threaded on both ends FYI , 1 of mine came off easily (nut) but the other two unthreaded out of the pump which was a PITA!!!

Do yourself a favor. Get a holley Blue label pump and never look back. Mine holds 14psi at idle, 8WOT and 10 at cruise.
