Decided to try my truck with out the Puck today. Power was the same above 2500 rpm. Power below 2500 RPM was smooth, seemless, and strong..... also BORING with just a hint of grey smoke. Plugged the Puck back in, and power from 1500-3000 was sweeeet, she ripped and snorted all the way to 3K... . and smoke was black and plentiful.

The Puck definately gives a much fatter low end and mid range..... just how I like it.

What is this Puck thing that you are talking about? Is it an aftermarket product like the EZ or something that comes with the truck?

question about ez

I have a question about the edge ez for anyone that has one with a 99 6spd. Q is does the stock clutch hold up if pushed hard I just got the edge ez 60hp uprate empty it is amazing it is almost like a diferent truck pulls like hell no need to go over 2200 rpm pulled 25. 5k today and I babyed the hell out of it not knowing if the stock clutch will hold. It still pulls very good when babyed but I tend to push it hard stock knowing that the stock clutch will take stock hp. Truck has 66k with well cared for clutch one driver that know how to shift . I would like to push the new box to the limit but not at the expence of the clutch. Thanks for any info you may have.

csevers (Colt ?? ) Mine is a '01 6 speed. I can't imagine that your clutch is weaker than mine was. I pushed it very hard when I had only the EZ installed, never slipped. That was while running empty. I didn't bother to even try it when the step 3 injectors went in as a McLeod dual disk was installed by A. W. D. at the same time.

Diesel Freak,

From what I have read in a few places you can connect a laptop or something to the puck and change the settings on it.

Is this correct? Does yours have a serial port or something on it to connect to a computer?

I am very interested in seeing how this works.

I plan to get an Edge Comp but if I can tune a puck for how I drive that might be even better.

Thanks.

Bill

power puck

i just happened to go to a website for a business in central florida who sells the diablo power puck. in his literature he mentions something about being compatible with windows 98. business is : www.dieselsite.com i have no involvement. the only reason i know anything about this is the dealer comes to some of the central florida tdr get togethers. the only negative thing i heard is the puck was thought to set some codes(don't know the numbers). bruce

yes, you attach a serial cable to it

well, the puck is a "mild" fueling box, and does not pierce the pump wire where the Comp is quite wild, and pierces the pump wire.

the puck is good for 60 HP at 1900, and it tapers off to stock levels after 2700 RPM

The guys out at BD told me they could do this to the 2nd version (the one with the newer box, but not the MAP circuit) on up to the New VA's also.

Edge Comp

Diesel Freak,

If you think you like the puff of black smoke from that puck wait 'til you step up to the comp. 5-5 on my truck is a little James Bondish. Well ok a lot James Bondish but the extra HP is cool.
