Went to a garrage sale today and....

got two unbelievalbe deals. First I got a mopar fog light kit for the 2nd generation dodges for $20 bucks. Has tons of relays and plugs and the actual lights with new inserts for the bumpers. My dad gets the lights and I will probably sell the rest of the wiring and such to a local member.



My second and much bigger score was a welder. I got a brand new Century 170 GS wirefeed gas mig welder for $100. Just missed the 30 gal air compressor for #50.

Sort of sad but the best garage sale scores I've come across are when the wife cleans out her dead mechanic/machinist husband's shop. Come across this quite often in my area since there are a disproportionate number of retired folks. Most recently acquired a full set of metric and US Snap-On open-end/swivel socket combo wrenches for $15.

Lots of good deals here too in garage sales.

In the retirement villages there is a lot of "estate sales". I usuially dont go to these. Seeing an opened box of tissues next to the former owners bed with a pricetag on it dont rub me the right way.

I think I'm in the retirement capitol of the world.

once I got a Johnson 7. 5 horse trolling motor for 150 bucks, it was next to new, they got a divorce and she was selling stuff before he knew what was going on

I got an Evenrude 9. 9 for $175. 00. It still had the stickers on it. My Dad wanted it, so I gave it to him.

I just picked up a gas grill with 2 bottles and a nice canvas cover for $50 this weekend. Actually my wife got it since I was at work.



I've picked up quite a few things at garage sales. I think the people having the sale get excited when a guy pulls up in a 1 ton dually. I bet they think I plan to haul everything off.

Our subdivision has a huge garage sale once a year, and it draws people from all over Austin. I wanted to sell ammo and gun stuff, but my wife didnt like the idea. I did sell my old BDU's, and the military stuff goes QUICK!
