15w40 at napa today. it was $9. 14/gal. WOW! you can buy rosmella for $6. 5/gal. so what is the major difference besides the frappin price!!??

That price was probably the PB 2000 synthetic blend. Rotella synthetic blend (SB) is about the same price.

The reason it is higher is because it is a semi-synthetic. If you use your vehicle just as a daily driver, then Rotella is fine; it is fine for pulling too. If you want a little more, then you go for the premium blue; if you want even more the full-syn is over $20. 00 per gallon. Premium Blue is the factory fill for the Cummins engine, so I am told. The name would imply it also. Hope this helps

I pay around $9. 00 for Premium Blue. I haven't priced Premium Blue 2000 (synthetic blend). I also get mine at a local NAPA store (Festus, MO).



I run it around 7,500 miles per oil change. This is with little to no towing. I have sent in oil samples, and based on them I could put more miles on it, but I don't think I want to push it to far.

Almost every town I've been to has a bulk oil dealer. Even small farm towns. This is where the farmers and buisnesses buy their petrolum products as they are much cheaper than the stores lile NAPA and other auto stores. I have been paying less than $9. 00 for the Cummins Premium Blue 2000. Just find one that has Valvoline products.

I just go to the local Kragen's store. It's handy so I don't really pay any attention to the price. Convenience is worth quite a bit.
