were can I find a inline fuel strainer

I am looking for a 3/8" in/out fuel strainer something to keep junk from entering my pusher pump. I have had no luck at the auto stores. I want something that will catch the big stuff but will not suffer waxing in the cold temps. Maybe 50 ~100 micron range.

any ideas where I could find such a thing.

High flow Fleetguard 3/8" inline strainer for pre-pump installation. The Fleetguard FF5079 has a 24 micron stainless mesh inner cage and a 13 gram capacity. This is a high flow strainer and will not restrict supply to your new fuel pump. The only inlet side filtration that we recommend for our pumps. Don't confuse this strainer with a standard inline fuel filter.

Does not say on any of the paper work, I called and asked the guy at engine gear and he did not give up any info . I can tell you it is a fine mesh screen, and appears to be fine enough to not strain the inlet of the pump while also stopping anything from getting to the inlet of the pump although I am not a wiz at micron stuff. I have taken two pieces of black material out of it since it has been on. Parts of my fuel float maybe, or shavings from the tank.

I believe the Wix version of those are 141micron, similar to the FASS screen.

I use a screen with a glass settlement bowl on my bed tank. It's easy to see if it's dirty and easy to clean. I got it at NAPA.

I like the see through bowl but it will be mounted in the wheel well and may be subject to flying objects.



I asked at napa if they had anything like this and they said they only had the socks that come with the replacement fuel pumps they sell for in-tank use. I guess that is the help you can expect today.



I think I will try the one from gdp and see if it works when it gets cold. I run powerservice in the winter to keep from jelling but I would hate to be up snowmobiling and find that 24 micron is too small.

I just went to summit racing, thats allot of strainers just about every micron rating you could ever want. I thought the gdp ones are cheap, summit is even less!

go to NAPA and get the part number that was previously posted. Wix tech states that this is a metal mesh of 130 microns! they did not say it was stainless, but was metal. GDP uses these fleet guards which cross to the wix. $8. 92!

I use an Earls in-line screen filter from Jegs. 75 or 85 micron, if I remember correctly mounted right before my Walbro...

I am not sure of the micro range, but another choice might be Vulcan Performance that sells two in line fuel strainers.

Fuel filters

Well on my 93 dodge when I had it I used to use the Raycor 445 WF seperator. The pump would move abour half of what it was rated at so even half pluged it would be more then enought this was when everyone was using the was it? 125 racor? I used the 2 micron filter and the winters were in the - 40*C range never had any waxing of fuel or problems. I even took girlfriend to Laird Hot Springs because it was - 50*C she loved it. ( not like this junk that I have now). That one winter when I was running the D-7XL it had one day that I changed the fuel filter 3 times and had to prime like mad to get the fuel to the injector pump.
