West bound and down

Ok, last month, is was SamsRams (Sam Ayers of ASA intake fame); this month is my turn to move to God's country. Loveland this time. I have a job with a moving company as a sub contractor. Use my pickup and company trailer, get a cut. He carries the liability ins, maintains the trailers, does the booking. All I have to do is fuel up and keep my own records. I worked for him in 2000, and he is a swell guy to work for. If I was shrot of rent one month, he'd jus tgive me an advance and take it out of the next week's check. I'll be staying in an efficeincy apartment (translation- SMALL), but I'll be able to look for something out of town, preferrably taking care of some horses and/or cattle for part or all of the rent.



So, I may be gone from here for a week or two, until I can get a computer of my own. YOU WILL MAKE IT THROUGH WITHOUT ME!! ' it's only temporary. (Still have to pay the Gestapo my monthly extortion payment, but if they cant find me, they cant arrest me, can they? )

Sounds like the position I am in, except it is that my computer is messed up and I have been wanting to re do everything but I am in a catch22 with it all.

Well I am glad to hear you are going to get out of the swamp. Yeah for sure you better make it to the first gen party. How far will it be from your new home?

Stomp, I will be 45min south of Cheyenne. If it is at the end of the month, I probably wont make it- moving business gets REAL busy the 25th through the 5th of the next mo. But if it is in the middle... ... I'll have to check it out.



CB- Give me a number and I'll call ya. I'll be getting a cell phone with in the week after getting there. Yeah, they may have to seperate us at those events, huh?. Cant wait, though. Oo.



Edit- I just looked and cant make it to PDR on the 31st. End of the month, and as much as I love the TDR and want to support it, I cant afford to lose the $1000 I'd lose in 3-4 days at that time.

GOt here yeterday, got moved into my studio apt. Going to start looking around for something cheaper and farther out of town, preferrably eastward, ASAP.



Didnt have any real problems except the votage regulator. I had 16 volts for a while, then I'd get that burning smell of the battery being hot, then unhook it. Dropped down to 12 volts. I coudl drive about 120mi with no alt, just off battery- then when it got to 10volts, I'd hook the reg back up, go 20 min, unhook it again. Found an O'Reilley's in Salina KS and they swapped it out for me under warranty. No problems after that; expect the 40mph headwind in west KS; combined with the climbing and wind, I got a whopping 15MPG for about 200 mi. instead of my normal 20.

You can go to just about any modern library and use those computers to log on to TDR. Just remember your password. I have loged on from 20 different computers work friends where ever.

DP - Glad to hear you made it ok! I haven't checked in in a while - been unpacking, doing construction, and planting trees outside for a while. Loveland huh?, you're about 1. 5-2 hours up the road from me - we'll definitely have to get together and swap bombing stories! Talk to you laters,

UPDATE

ARRGHHHHH!!!!



The guy I was going to work for in Lvld said last week he'd have me booked the week after Memorial Day, then I looked at the schedule and I was off this entire week, with no money to pay next week's rent (I was counting on wroking enough THIS week to cover it), I'm skipping town, and moving down the road before I'm totally broke. I'm spending a day or two here in C/S with my cousin, and will know by tonite whether I'm moving back to the swamp, or going to ID. Or if anyone else can rent me a room here (C/S area) for a while... . ??
