I have a recently purchased Westach 0-16psi fuel pressure gauge, and was wondering how to wire it up. I have Red, Black, Green, and Grey/Yellow tracer wires coming out the back of the gauge. 2 poles on the sending unit. There was at one time, instructions and other important info on the sendin unit, which has since faded. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Daniel,

I think you can find the wiring instructions at the westach website.

Looks like you have a 2C8-8 - if yoiu can't find the instructions on the website the folks on the 800 # can help you - they're really nice.

Thanks, Mike. I was going to do that, but figured someone here had to know, as well. Plus, I am quite capable of forgetting between now and Monday. I had another memeber send me a PM saying he'd scan the instructions for me and email them to me.

Alrighty. I'm only going to say this once, so pay attention in class!!!

Jezzzzz. These kids now... .....

Use SAME ground point for gauge and sender!

Post #2 on gauge is signal and is attatched to one of the terminals on the sender.

Post #5 on gauge is ground and is attatched to the remaining terminal on the sender. Use a common ground as mentioned above.

Still listening or do I have to get my ruler out?

Post #4 on gauge is Battery positive

While on the subject... . I am improving fuel supply as well and am looking for where there is a good place to tap in for pressure reading? And what pressures are right for the VE?

It's most convenient/suitable to place a tapped banjo in place of the bleeder banjo. This is the fuel filter outlet port same as the fuel injection pump supply line fitting @ the filter.

Replace the two rubber seals when you install the new banjo.

You will see 5psi at the gauge or so. Perhaps a tad more or less. Depends upon the condition of your filter element and lift pump.

When you load the VE pump it will consume MORE fuel and supply will drop rapidly. If you modify the injection pump and injectors, the supply will drop to zero with a fresh lift pump/filter. You may then opt to install a piston lift pump or pursue other measures. Don't starve the VE for fuel for any period of time.
