Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Westach fuel pres sending unit???????

I got past the banjo thing with the help of TDR. Thanks for the help



Next question is; The sending unit has two terminals on top. neither is marked neg- or pos+ or color coded.



I called westach, but it was too late and no answer.



directions dont say either, but does say connect blah blah to neg side. .



Which terminal is neg? They are offset on the top which would make id easier.



Any ideas or does it matter?

On a sending unit I dont think it matters. I would think if it did it would be marked.

I have the same sender either post can be used for ground





After all this I sure hope you lift pump is good

I have two of the senders on the top of my fuel filter and you can use either lug for ground or wire back to gauge.

After the install, if the L/P is not up to snuff, in goes a new one, and down below a pusher.

I thought I was just lucky, I got the correct terminals the first time around Mine worked from the get-go and I never reversed them to see if they didn't work... .

Sort of related to this question... . Do any of you all get air trapped in you sender over time? My truck can only go about 5000 miles before I have to take the sender and hang it low in the engine to get the air out. When it has air it is not where near accurate.

My experience has been the opposite, a line filled with air is eventually filled with diesel. Very slight difference in pressure readings with air vs. fuel, that's why I never bleed the air out right after an installation.

Think about it, if your tube is getting air after it's filled with fuel you have to be sucking air somewhere in the system. You need to check for a leak, many times the fuel delivery system can suck air without leaking fuel.
