Just received the Westach fuel pressure gauge (30 PSI) and sending unit. As always, Geno's sends the little goodies with it as well as installation tips. Just wondering where the best place to mount the sending unit would be. I have the mount bracket that was sent free and I did purchase the LAHF fuel pressure line (30 inch) which will mount on the VP44 Schrader valve.

I believe I saw something about isolating the unit from the engine to avoid vibration if I remember correctly. Can anyone confirm this and perhaps recommend a location where the best fit location for the sending unit might be?

Appreciate in advance any response to help in this project and any other tips that you may have. Getting ready to head to NC for the NASCAR races in a few weeks.

I tywrapped mine to the hoses for the brake/power steering system after using a 18" grease gun hose. Been there for a few years.

I have two. One mounted on the firewall to the left of the brake booster and one mounted on the left fender apron. Not sure what the correct name for the brackets are, but they are for hanging conduit. Mine fit the senders perfectly and attached with sheet metal screws.

Thanks for the quick come back, Dave. Where did you mount the sending unit? As I mentioned, I have a 30 inch hose and was going to isolate the sending unit from the engine either on the firewall or the fender. Then connect the wiring and run it to the gauge in the dash.

Does that sound like what you did?

Thats how I isolated any vibration. The sending unit is literally tywrapped to the Brake booster hose in front of the master cylinder. Absolutely no vibration. With it monted like I did it moves with the hoses and any engine movement as one assembly and also keeps the engine harmonics from rattling it to death. If it is mounted to a fixed object like a firewall or fender the hose will flex with engine movement which may be ok. I just tried to minimize the possibilty of hose failure from flexing and vibration.

I have the same pieces from Westach, only have the 0-16. I mounted mine to the driver's side fender wall using the supplied metal screw into the sender bracket. The flex hose goes from my Schrader valve to the bottom of the sender.

Only issue I had was not having the connectors and wires properly crimped. After I checked all of the connections, voila it worked. Good Luck.

I used a body bolt behind the drivers headlight. . Just had to move the battery for a minute... It could be done without moving the bat, but it's tight.

Thanks for all the responses and help. I have a good idea now and shouldn't take too long to get this thing working. My truck is stock except for the AFE cold air intake stage 1/Proguard 7 with the torque tube and pre-filter in black. It has Westach gauges on a double pod "A" pillar mount for auto-trans temp and combination EGT/Boost gauge. They have been working great.

Better get to work with the install. Next stop, injectors, Smarty and 4" exhaust. Pull 32" Montana fifth wheel
