I have a 2003, 3500, SLT, HO, 6-sp, with most of the factory goodies. I am considering purchasing (probably from Geno's) a Westach Combo Gauge (EGT & Boost) and installing it in a Single Pod Gauge Gizmo. It is my belief that I would still have use of the driver side grab handle.

I want to keep the grab handle, don't want a gauge mounted low 'cause I know I'd hardly ever glance at it, and don't want to obstruct the other gauges. The Westach combo gauge in the single pod mount seems to me to be a good solution.

What do you folks think?

Sorry I don't have an answer to your query, but I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I'm debating whether to go with the single pod/Westach combo, or a BD X Monitor. I'd be paying about double to gain the trans temp feature and the alarms, limits, etc. with the X.

I'ts my understanding that the single pod is now available with the molded in color that matches the A pillar. I would also be interested in hearing from anyone who has info. Thanks:)

I installed a transmission temp guage in the single pod pillar mount from Geno's. It matched the trim color and I still have the grab handle. I like it. :)

I used this exact set up on my 03 and I am very pleased with it. Yes you can still keep the grab handle. The wires are easy to install behind the moulding and down behind the dash and into the engine area. The only small glich that I had is the fasteners for the gizmo were not real nifty but a trip to the local autobody shop for some good fasteners solved the problem. Have fun.

Thanks for your responses.

You have settled it for me. I'll order a Westach Combo and a Guage Gizmo right away.

For you that have already installed the single pod Gizmo I have a question. How much chopping or drilling must you do to the original A pillar? That is, if you removed the Gizmo later on what would the A pillar then look like? (I really don't know why I ask this, once installed I'm sure I would leave it there, but I'm just curious. )
