Just finished installing my Westach EGT/Boost and Fuel Pressure gauges and thought I'd pass on the readings.
This is a totally stock 2001 CTD with just over 15,000 miles on it. The EGT probe was installed pre-turbo; the Fuel Pressure sender was installed on the injector fuel inlet banjo bolt, using the tapped bolt from Geno's to replace the stock bolt; the Boost gauge was installed using the 3/4" manifold port, just aft of the fuel filter, with a 3/4" to 1/8" NPT reducer.
All wires and boost hose were routed through the large rubber grommet in the firewall near the stearing column. They run up the driver's sidewall and into the dual Auto Meter pillar mount.
Here are the post installation readings:
Idle: 13 FP; 0-1 Boost; 200 EGT
Steady 65: 9 FP; 3-4 Boost; 500-600 EGT
WOT on a small hill (in 5th): 7-8 FP; Monmentary 17-18 Boost; 700-800 EGT
Boost never goes above 18... and bleeds down rapidly to about 9-10 as truck accelerates.
I'm planning a trip, over the mountains, in September, and will report on the readings, while towing an 11,000lb fifth wheel, if significant.
Hope this is helpful...
