I am looking at purchasing the Westacch EGT and boost and putting it in SRT 10 A-pillar mount. What color face should I get on them?

I had really liked my Di=pricols in my 03 but I hated the column mount they were in!

In the end it is cheaper to get the Westach than purchase 2 di-pricols BUT how do they hold up. Has anyone had any problems with theirs?

Anyplace carry them besides Geno's?

Thanks!

I have had Westachs in 2 trucks now and had no problems other than the odd lamp and one probe. Service from Geno's is excellent.

I've had the gauge on this truck for two years. I have the white face and have no trouble reading them at night. I had one bad thermocouple, the wiring was bent 90° by the neighbors cat and was open. Mouse traps ended that. Must have bumped his head getting out of the engine compartment. :D Hasn't been back since. Would have liked to been out there when that happened.

I love my Westach. It allowed me to keep my grab handle which I didn't want to lose.

Here is what they look like installed.

Call me a Westach fanatic. I've responded to several posts in support of the EGT/Boost combo gage. An awful lot of these posts seem to be preoccupied with the "look" of the gage vis-a-vis: Are they OEM compatible? In fact, the Westach white faced gage, in daylight, looks very much like it "belongs" on the A-pillar. This is the only way you will get EGT and boost on the pillar, keep the handle, and avoid digital. The white face does not offer ideal contrast at night with the thin white pointer, but the end of the pointer is bright orange and on the A-pillar it is close enough to you that there is not really an issue. The gage at night looks nothing like the OEM cluster, but so what? It is simple and reliable and that is all that matters to me. Hook it up to the dimmer with the green filter lens on the bulb and it looks cool, IMHO. Note: I am also looking at the Westach transmission temp with dipstick probe. This will allow me to get this reading without dropping the pan. I don't think anyone else is offering that feature. If I get the temp combo gage I can add coolant temp. This is all I will ever need.

Trickwheel,

You hit it right on the head. I didn't want digital and I wanted my handle on the pillar. I do think the gauge is a little bright at night, but other then that I think it is perfect. Easy to install and have not had any problems.

Nice picture. Looks just like mine. Away from home for a week, driving a rental, just finished talking to my wife. Now I'm really home sick. You must have bought yours from Genos. They recommend the 50 psi boost option for the "bone stock" CTD 600's and 610's. I have seen 34psi on my stock 2006 hauling a load of DG to my horse's paddocks.

Yeah, from Genos. My truck is still completely stock and I have seen a peak of probably 32-34 only for a second though. Pulling a load of hay over the mountain, grossing 21,000 lbs It will sit right at 29-30 PSI with about 850 EGT (post turbo). I will probably be moving that to a Pre-turbo location when I get a Smarty in the next couple of months.

I had Westach gauges on an Isuzu pickup I had for years. The gauges worked very well and the company was terriffic to work with.

The only thing about Westach though is the needles are always so thin it seems to me. I like a more hsuky look.

Everyone who has seen mine think its factory. Does the job fine for me. Little hard to see at night but I run my dimmer very low and need glasses. I'm getting were I can't see a damn think at night,LOL

I've had them for 5-1/2 years and the only problem was the sensor on the transmission gauge kept failing. I think they replaced it free about 3 times. I finally went to a differnet gauge. I talked them recently and they have started using a differeent epoxy that they think will solve the problem. I will try to new sensor and put the Westach gauge back in the truck. After 5 years, the EGT gauge was not reading properly, so they said to sent back so they can check it out. I'll do that soon. They are very easy to work with and service oriented. When I get a 3 gen, I'll use their gauges.

Ditto on what Tmacc says re easy to work with.

When I bought my Isuzu in 83 they did not have a Tach calibrated for it yet. Roger Westberg personally took my sender and made sure they could match it.

Also I had a fuel pressure/ (+/- psig) setup made especially to my specs. The price was not too bad either.

If it were not for the skinny needles I would use Westach excluseivly.

That is exactly what I did. Went with the white face to match factory look. I have only had in for about 2 weeks. Looks great. Very clean install.
