I'm putting in guages... Finally. I'm interested to get feedback on the Westech and Autometer guages. I'm looking for performance and reliability first, then looks. I have decided not to go SPA, do to negative feedback.

Thanks

Keith

I have been very happy with my Westach dual combo EGT/boost gauge - it has performed flawlessly.

My Westach dual combo fuel pressure gauge has worked fine as well. I wish I could say the same for the sending units. I have had numerous sending unit failures (probably 6-8) on the post-filter side (even using a gauge snubber), and at least 2 on the pre-filter side. I've taken to ordering a pair of sending units from Geno's and carrying them as spares when I use my last spare as a replacement.

The gauges are fine. The resistance-type fuel pressure sending units aren't. :(

I also have a Westach dual combination EGT/boost gauge as well as a Westach dual fuel pressure gauge. My complete setup has performed well—zero problems—for more than 30,000 miles. The sending units for the fuel pressure gauges are connected to the inlet and outlet of the transfer pump on my model year 2000 Ram using Ray's banjo bolts and about 18 inches of eighth-inch fuel line.

No functional problems atall with my Westach fuel pressure unit. It was used when I got it.

BUT, it's not a light-through-dial and uses a goofy little bulb and teeny weeny wires AND splashes out way more "extra" light than my Hewitt gauges.

I will be getting a different one.

I have both

I can not comment on the reliablity as I have only had mine for a couple of months myself however...

I have the Autometer trany, EGT, and boost guage and the westach fuel pressure down stream from the filter. I wanted an autometer for the fuel pressure but they did not have any recomened. Genos did not have them at all.

I have to say when I did the install the autometer seemed to be of much better quality. The Westach did have tiny little wires and a very small light. I don't think either will have problems after you get them installed. My only regret now is not getting the dual FP guage... :-( I did not see that one!

Autometer

Very happy with all my Autometer sport comps. I have had no problems, very reliable, great lighting, exact match with the blue bulb covers, easy install, and look the closest to the stock gauges. With Autometer you also have a wider variety of looks. No problems with any sending units. Summit racing was by far the cheapest, fastest and most reliable place to order, fast and friendly. They had everything in stock and at my door in 2 days. And my opinion the best looking gauges out there.

I’ve had the Westach combo gauge for almost four years without the slightest problem. However, the transmission temp gauge has failed four times now. I think the gauge might be OK, but I’m on my fourth sender (all replaced by Geno’s), and it just died again recently. Last week I ordered the Westach FP gauge from Geno’s and told them about my continued problems with the trany temp gauge. They’re sending me a replacement gauge and another new sender at no cost. They said if that doesn’t take of my problem, they’d give me a great deal on the ISSPRO. I figured, what the heck – I’d like all my gauges to be the same if possible. Nothing to lose by trying once more for free, huh? One thing about Geno’s, I’ve never once had a problem with their standing behind their products.

I do Westach. 18k miles about 1 year.

I use the solid state senders for pressures. After a year I had the VP side of the fuel filter sender go bad. Called Westach, another solid state sender on the way no charge. Post fp is on a 18" snubber line. I asked Westach about that and they said that should be all the protection it should need.

I have not had a single other odd occurrence happen to any of the senders either pressure or temperature including EGT.

Going on three years (32K+) with my Westach dual "Boost/EGT" and "FP" gauges. Absolutely no problems with any of them. Got them from Geno's... :D

I have the autometer ultralites. I have have had experiene with autometer for quite a long time and have never had any problems with them. Besides building a good gauge, they also have good customer service and a lot of different styles to choose from.

I use Westach guages. I have the combo EGT/boost, fuel pressure, transmission temp, and fuel level for my extra tank. They all work fine. No trouble at all. The light that came with my first gauge (the combo) was a lot dimmer than the ones with the newer gauges. I chose the green bulb covers for the newer gauges but left the old one white because it's kind of dim. I intend (when I get aroundtoit) to get a new light kit for the old gauge so I can use the green for it too.

I especially liked their service in answer to my questions and the product selection. I thought the fuel sender in my extra tank (it's off a GMC dump truck) was going to be a problem. I measured the resistance of the unit and asked them if they had a fuel gauge that would work with it. No problem, several available. My P7100 injection pump normal lower pressure is somewhere around 18 PSI and the maximum pressure is over 30. Decelleration spikes can be higher than that. I asked about a 40 PSI electronic gauge. No problem, several available. I don't think Geno's provides the 40 PSI gauge in their selection. Amost instant response to my e-mails asking them questions. I had a lot of questions before I made my selections. Very quick delivery, but that may be because I only live a couple of hundred miles from their plant near Santa Rosa, CA.
