My floor on the pasenger side is very wet. I checked the AC drip tube, but it is not clogged. I read a Technical Service Bullitin for 97' models claiming that the right or left cowl panels may leak. I have a 98. 5'. Has anyone encountered this problem before? Please explain more about cowl panel.

98. 5', 5spd, 3500, stock

pull the carpet on the pass side like now before it gets compeatly

soaked, sound like a heater core to me,however i been wromg before,by pulling the carpet back you will be able to see where is the moisture coming from.

I'm putting my money on the 3rd brake light gasket.

Why? Cause mine was doing the same thing. Replaced the gasket and all was well.

If you can see water getting behind the 3rd brake light when you wash the truck, you got a problem that need to be fixed.

Good Luck

Most often it's the cab top brake light leaking. Water flows and collects in the front without getting much else wet. If it's your heater core you'll find anti-freeze, not water.

Put a piece of hose on that AC drain, I'll bet that's the culprit. I think the wind blows it back in. I had the same problem and a lenghht of plastic hose fixed it.

Mine was doing the same thing. 3rd brake light gasket was the problem. My interior got soaked even during a light rain. Replace, just in case. Only 10 dollars and 2 minutes out of your time.
