My 92 D250 has some kind of water leak that gets the carpet wet on the very far right side of the truck. It happens when it rains or I use the AC,right next to the door. Anyone had this happen? It appears to come from under the kick pannel. Haven't looked yet, thought I'd ask before I dive in. Thanks.

Make sure it's not running in at the top front area of the door and running down along side the door. This is only for when it rains. Don't know about the problem when the air conditioner is running. Make sure there isn't a drain line that may have come loose, or worse, that the heater core isn't leaking.

I did have the same problem. I took the kick panel off and had someone spray water over the truck while I was inside with a flashlight. I seen mine coming from around the vent on the kick panel. There is a foam gasket that leaked. I just put a bead of silicon around the entire piece and have not had any trouble since. You might also look around the window gasket. Just allitle hole is all it takes. Good Luck B. J.

I have the same problem. I have the rubber floor in my truck but would like to know where the problem is if you figure it out.

Guys,

Ol' Blue had the same wet florboard isse in about 1991. She has rubber in the floor but it got squishy (ouch!!) We pulled the kick plates and rolled the rubber mat back and the padding under it was all wet. Ended up removing the seat and the mat and padding. Under all of this are a couple of rubber plugs that plug some rather large holes where the cab mounts to the frame. Seems that warter spray was coming in around the plugs. I know it sounds crazy, but the rubber plugs were so stiff (wrong type of rubber) that they were not sealing the holes. We took some RTV and put around the plugs, dried the padding and put it all back together. 9 years later she's still dry.

Hope this helps

When I got my '93 it had the same problems. Used a hose to duplicate rain. Drivers side vent/kick panel assy. was leaking at the seal between it and the sheet metal.
I bought a new seal and used a very generous amount of black RTV on both sides of the foam seal. Probably will have to break kick panel to get it off but no leaks. Passenger side had two problems. One was A/C intake to sheet metal seal, same basic problem as driver side but would have required removing the A/C evaporator and heater core assy. to fix the same way so I did what 3dracer did and it stopped. The other problem was at the lower corner of the windshield seal. I tried different RTV's but that didn't help. Took it to a windshield guy and he removed the glass and resealed it completely using the same gasket. The leak was at a spot where two cab sheet metal sections were welded.

I had the same kind of problem (notice the operative word HAD). The seal between the top cap (roof) and the drain rail had detereorated to where it leaked when it got wet. The carpet near each corner post would get wet each time. I got some latex caulking and reapplied the bead around the U-groove of the drip rail. Haven't had a leak since. Try this and see what happens.

Just passed the above tips on to a friend with wet floor boards, says it helped in tracking the source down. TDR, great place for info.
