Wet Sleeves?

Is what Im reading saying you can rebuild a Wet Sleeved motor without pulling it? Or is it cheaper because of less machining?

Yes. When you replace the sleeves, you are actually putting brand new cylinders in the engine. Generally you get a kit with new sleeves (also called liners), new pistons, new bearings and all the other essentual stuff like gaskets and seals. If your cam and crank are good, you've got yourself a new engine.

It's probably quicker and cheaper. If You look around for parts there will be either in frame or out of frame overhaul kits(out of frame has more parts, to completely rebuild engine). Lots of people just do in frame anymore.

I can get a in frame overhaul kit i. e. gaskets,pistons liners,pins,rings,bearings for a IH dt 466 in the low $700 range. IF the crank is good all you have to do is the head for $200 and you have a complete overhaul for under $1000 in parts.
