Hey peoples -

Thought the pics below might help for some conversion ideas.

We pulled the engine yesterday and it went very smoothly thanks to the help of several folks including Idually (thanks Andy - huge help dude) who came down from Denver for the day, TJ, Bob, Bob, and Rob.

We tore the rig apart - removed/cut off the front clip, scrapped the wrecked sheetmetal, pulled the hardware off the engine, loosed the converter, and yanked the engine. It was tighter than I thought it would be, but it eventually popped out with a little help of a prybar getting the flexplate to clear the bellhousing. Anyways, some pics:

Here's me and my broken rig :{

Back side of a 6BT, and factory adaptor

Engine stand I made today - the engine flips verses rolls - very stable and simple

Rear mount - all plugs are accessable

D-side

P-side mount - uses the motor mounts as the main support for the weight of the engine -just like the factory

It punted a new Ford Ranger clean off the road after the Ranger pulled out in front of me coming from the opposite direction. He thought he could cut across the road and save some time - he ended up on his roof after a couple lateral spins. He was going 5 mph, we were going 55 mph. Ka-pow. The Cummins was still running, and the only reason the radiator leaked any fluid was because the core support got pushed back pressing the radiator into the fan blades. Intercooler, A/C condenser, and transmission cooler all survived, though slightly bent. Unfortunately, the frame got hurt. I think it can be pulled straight, but I'm now officially looking for another frame, and it has to be a CTD frame, 2 or 4wd.

Eventually this rig will be getting a lod of modifications. Check out the thread: CTD + crew cab - that's where I'm going.
