While I was out today, I happened upon this scene.

I was doing some research for my wireless project, but when I saw this scene, I had to stop and snap a couple pictures.

BTW, It was a nice day today!

Oh, yeah, and a "burn" day, too. You'll notice the haze in the distance as scores of farmers were getting rid of trees, brush, and so on.

I was less than 200 feet from them, at one point.

They're for the benefit of the city slickers :)

And all those stuck in deep snow.

And all those stuck in severe weather

Notice all the area for them to hide :)

I see a dozen deer 30 feet from my house every day, here in the swamp, so of course I'm not all that impressed with the deer. But where they are does interest me. Beautiful pictures Mark!

I have seen upwards of 100 deer in one area, out in the wheat fields during the late fall or winter.

They are often congregated in fuell view of the highway, sometimes even near it.

Whitetails

Very interesting, that's more deer than I saw all this past season. They have been clear cutting and replanting the lease where I hunt the last two years, the landscape looks kinda like the picture now without the stubble. Oh well it was fun anyway. bg
