Did you know my CTD is so great, it makes 40 lbs of oil pressure without a wire on the sender.

When I called the dealer, the SM tells me 'We make them all that way" because the sender is a high failure item, and he never heard of a bad oil pump on a cummins...

Mine is getting a new sender and a re-flash Friday. I am paying for it.

Makes you kinda wonder what the thought process was in making that decision...

STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT LET THEM DO THE REFLASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The reflash turns your guage into an idiot gauge. Just replace the sender only. I had it done and now my guage always shows good oil pressure, never varies whether hot or cold. Just go to a Cummins dealer and buy the sender. If you have that reflash done you will regret it and it can't be undone.

OMG DON"T DO IT!

DBL check for compatability but I replaced mine 2 years ago and no problems.

PLUS it will cost 2/3rds less than what a dealer will whack ya. (I have SEEN them charge 180 for the sender when it's 60 something at Cummins)

Hence my original post:

"Did you know my CTD is so great, it makes 40 lbs of oil pressure without a wire on the sender. "

Its all ready BEEN reflashed, by the original owner. Thats why I show 40 PSI of oil pressure with the connector hanging in the wind. The dealer is flashing it back to its original state. He says it can be done if the customer insists. I am putting on a new sender because I want know it is working. If I have no oil pressure I want to know that. His written estimate for the total job is $96. 00. Cheap, IMHO

Good luck!

Jim, let us know if they actually can do it. I would love to have my guage back. I have never heard of a dealer saying this is possible, they have always said it can't be undone.

Sam

IMHO I suggest those that screwed up and got the flash get a digital oil pressure gauge and mount it on a single steering columne pod. . tap into the port at top of the filter housing... and get true #'s back
