I might have an opportunity to pick up a used HTB2 62/14 with downpipe. So, my question is would this turbo be a good choice for my truck? Also what would be a fair price for the turbo and downpipe that has about 40K miles on it? I dont tow super heavy loads or often
i have the 12cm with my HTB2, been a really good turbo for me, currently lookin for a second turbo for my twin setup. not sure how your 14 would do though, depends how you fuel..... jeremy
That turbo will do a great job for you. Personally I prefer the 14 housing to the 12 for backpressure issue. A new HTB2 goes for around $1475 and a downpipe runs around $150, I would say if the turbo is not too old and in good shape somewhere in the $800-$900 range would be good.
I bought mine... . well traded... with either 3K or 5K miles on it. I've sled pulled 3 times on it, flog it everyday, and drive it everyday. Its great!
I pulled twice last weekend both times throwing 45PSI to it the whole length of the track coming out of the hole @ 4500 RPM's (turning 3300 I think going down the track?). Still driving great! Oo.
Bought my PDR40 from a fellow TDR member. Had maybe 20k miles on it. Probably has 60-65k miles on it now. Still feels like new. Has seen 45# a few times. Buried the pyro once, too, on the dyno. 16-1700* maybe, very briefly.
