I am looking at a used 2017 Ram 3500 (not at my location) which says on the build sheet "Canada spec" and related things, and I am awaiting a CarFax to confirm it was sold in Canada. It has the nicer "luxury group" instrument cluster and the large numbers are in KPH. I know the digital speedometer can easily be changed to MPH, but is there a way to change the gas mileage from Liters/100 km? What other issues or annoyances would I find with purchasing a Canadian truck in the US?

I've read that the warranty will only valid if it was purchased and registered in Canada prior to importing to the US. Any other warranty issues? Thanks!

My 2013 longhorn ram 2500 was originally sold in Quebec Canada. A few things I’ve noticed is...
The Uconnect system doesn’t have all the app features that the USA version does
All body panels, wheels and parts have a unique serial number etched into them
The conversion to get you mpg, mph, etc will be on your menu screen. You will need a speedometer and there is a place out of Michigan that does the best work I’ve seen. On my truck they swamped out the Canadian longhorn kilo speedometer and tach for a standard USA version of the mph speedo and tach. It looked like **** personally. I was finally able to find the place out of Michigan and they made me an original version of the true longhorn speedo and tach so everything matches perfectly.
GPS functions the same as the us version.
At the top of my head that’s all i can think of. I wouldn’t say there has been any issues or headaches with it being a Canadian ram, you’ll get the same exact recalls, etc, etc.
Hope that helped you some.

Rust and possible Warranty issues, we have a local Hertz car sales that sells a lot of Canada vehicles and I have talked to people at the dealer that mention Warranty issues so I would look into that.

My 01 was a Canada truck. The speedo and instrument cluster had to be changed by a certified shop prior to importing. I bought it from a wholesaler so he took care of all of that before I took delivery. Probably a lot easier to make necessary changes on the new trucks. Only other thing I noticed is it had day time running lights. Thats an option that can be activated or deactivated on the new trucks anyway.
