Just wondering what the whole purpose of the AFC kit that TST sells? The description leaves a lot to be desired.

Just wondering if its actually worth the $35, but also looking for an excuse to open up the AFC housing again. :-laf

Thoughts/comments/suggestions welcomed:D

The springs are much longer giving you much more adjustment; the stock spring was to short & hard for me to adjust it the way I needed to. The TST spring gives you a much smoother control of the air to fuel mixture. Your turbo will spool up much quicker, I lost a full second to 30psi with a PDR Hx40^16cm (using the lighter spring they send in a 215hp pump) verified with a stopwatch. It was the difference between spinning the tires in 3rd & not with the PDR Hx40.

The bad thing (for some  ) you will lose mileage due to the fact your afc will no longer keep you from poring on the fuel before your boost gets up, & you gain the ability to lay a smoke screen anytime (0mph, 80mph, it doesn't matter).

they are weaker springs. Its will take less boost to push the spring back and let the gov arm hit the plate. The quicker the gov arm goes forward, the quicker the fuel comes on. Also pull the thick wasker with a lip out and put a flat washer in instead, . . this gives u more AFC travel without having to push the housing full forward. Sometomes pushing the housing full forward will give u a jerkiness in the pedal. Put the afc housing about 3/4 forward

I put the spring kit in and did not see much difference in performance. But it took away my ability to put out nice black smoke at will. I don't think I would do it again.

I ran w/o having the TST spring kit for quite a while and had some funny surging just before boost came on. I had adjust the AFC too loose and the spring was actually loose in the housing. I could adjust it to get rid of the surge but then the boost came on way to slow. With the TST or Piers AFC spring set you get two springs that are longer and of a lesser pressure and you can adjust the AFC to give great smooth transition going into boost. It also gives the ablility to control smoke pre-boost.
