Need a ride, Central TX to NV.

Which brand of airbags?

There is going to be a big 2 day consignment auction this weekend. There are several NEW Load King(?, mental block) flatbed trailers there. Tandem axle, singles. 14K trailers.

Keep forgetting to pick up a magazine to check prices on others to copare to new.

Any input would be appreciated, thanks.

I would think new depending on deck style (dovetail, beaver, etc) that you could pick up a 14k for $4,500 to $5000 with some dickering. Auction prices on new? Maybe $3,500. Less than that would be a dream.

Speaking about auctions, this saturday is the annual Kempton, PA auction. I was going to take some junk over but with snow coming, I think I will pass.

those are good #'s there Qrtrhrs. . I've been watching them , and then I bought Nowel's... $ 3500 pretty easy to find with Ok decking [not the best]

Just make sure twin landing gear and brakes both axels

The last farm auction I was at a 20+5 tandem single with dual jacks and heavy V neck went for 2,700 and it was in good but used condtion. It all depends on how smart the people at the auction are, some times people over bid the new price at a dealer were you could get some kind of warrenty and service with your new purchase.

Good Luck

A 25 foot deck over axel 7 ton with the dove tail sells for $3,295 new. A 10 ton with the oil bath axels goes for $4,995. GA prices.

Thanks for the help guys.

Those prices were kinda thinking they would be. If I do get one, I don't want to pay more than new at dealer. Hopefully less.

They have a 24' GN flatbed with flip-up beavertail. The frame is in good/very good condition. The floor is junk. A lot of broken boards. Will need a new deck. Wiring wasn't that hot either. They tried selling it last August, and I think top bid was $1600 if I remember right. No sale.

If the deck was put on with those torx self tapping screws, you might be in for a bit of labor to redeck it. They tend to snap off. Then once the deck is off, do you try to reuse the original holes or drill new ones into the steel which may not be all that strong.

If I was to get it, I would probably (if there is enough room) use carriage bolts with washers on the bottom side, using the original holes if possible. If not drill new holes. Should look at it again.

Depending on how much they want for it, it may be almost as cheap to get a new one. By the time you get new lumber, hardware and time, it'll add up. If I had a sawmill, I'd put down some oak decking.

EBAY

Check prices on ebay. That will give you an idea of what to expect. And while you're lurking around there, you might see something you like:)

Been there already. :) Have seen some there down South. Don't have time to go to Georgia right now, and don't want to pay the freight when I can do it cheaper.

The trailers that are at the auction, are at a farm equipment dealer that has some around most of the time anyhow. New ones only, unless the dealer gets a used one that came in for the auction.

All but one of the new trailers were sold earlier this week or late last week. It went for $4550 at the auction today. . 102"x25', 14k.

The other with the junk floor went for $3300. The boards were attached with torx screws.

They said that the new trailer prices were going to be 10-13% higher because of the steel prices.
