I have dd2 injectors, Edge EZ, and stock air box with the K&N filter on a 24 valve 1998. 5 2500. I am seeing about 25 lbs of boost the best I can do. I am also seeing about 1200 degrees max with lift pump pressure droping to about 12 lbs. Is this about right with this setup. Turbo is stock, elbow boost fooler on, and I have checked to be sure the boots on the intercooler is tight everywhere. I was pulling a boat today and when I punched it going up a hill is seemed the boost would shoot up quickly to about 28 lbs and then quickly drop back to 25 lbs. I thought this seemed strange seeing that I didnt back off with my right foot.

Thanks

Ken

What did you set the hp setting on the edge kit? Is your pyrometer sensor in the exhaust manifold? Was 1200 degrees under load? Exhaust temp seems a little high. I have seen about 32psi of boost under full load on the

highest hp setting.

With just my EZ I was able to hit 32ish psi, EGT's (pre) about 1100 deg. With the 100 hp injectors I could get a solid 35 psi and temps 1200+.

Pyro is pre turbo in exhaust manifold. EZ set to most responsive setting. Run was up a small hill pulling the boat (3 k lbs) I think Ill check my boost gauge connections this afternoon to be sure they are not leaking when pressure starts to build.

Ken, that seems too low. I see 32 with the EZ as a fooler and just the 275's. I would be looking for a leak or checking your gauge. I heard that you live off Hwy 96 west. What color is your truck?

I dont think anything is leaking . I need to check the gauge somehow. How would I put a known pressure on the gauge .

Ken

You could very very carefully apply compressed air in the boost line from the engine side. Have someone watch to see if the guage will read psi and

also check for leaks at same time. It won't take much psi to move needle.

Do you have an upgraded fuel system? It seems like the dd2's and an EZ would pull your fuel pressure down more than that if your system was stock. I could pull mine down to 10-11 psi with my upgraded fuel lines (with 100hp injectors and an EZ and a fresh lift pump). It may not be a boost leak at all; you just might not be getting all the fueling you should be.
