I purchased my gauges from Geno's almost four years ago, and all are still running problem free. I bought the Westach FP, Dual Boost/EGT guages. The Westach FP guage was my choice as I wanted an electronic gauge rather then a mechanical one. It was also very reasonably priced and easy to install using the test port off the VP44. :)
 
Me too, However it's plumbed into the test port on the filter can with a Geno's tapped fuel bolt & a grease gun hose. I made a mount out of Steel that attaches to the inboard master cylinder stud. In the cab I used a Geno's mount in the "cubby" hole. Works Great!!! :) However I now know that I am Going to need a lift pump soon!!! :( Moose
 
I just added a Westach FP gauge. I also used a grease gun hose (18") and made a bracket. I am working on a how to to go with my boost/EGT how to on the GDOA web site.
 
I just checked out Michael's website & there is a lot of really good info there. I installed my gauges about a month ago & it was really quite simple. I got Westach Boost/EGT, Temp/Temp, & Fuel pressure. I was a little concerned about drilling & tapping the manifold but I used a big magnet to collect the shavings & grease on the bit just in case. I don't think anything fell into the manifold. The westachs are nice but look kind of cheap when they are illuminated. In fact they look a lot like the gauges in my old Scout. Either way, I'm satisfied.
 
I have the DiPricol gauge I purchased from Diesel Power Products... . I am very happy with it and it is a nice match for the factory gauges
 
I just learned how important a Fuel Pressure gauge is after I installed mine. Had a lift pump go bad :(.



I installed a Westach FP gauge using the hose from Geno's (18") and taped into the test port valve on the VP44. Like Moose00, I also fabricated a bracket (see links below) that mounts to the master cylinder bracket for the sending unit and installed the guage in my cubby hole.



The Westech seems to work well for me, only wish I had done this sooner.

I have the DiPricol and purchased it with the isolator in kit form from Geno's. Works great and looks good, especially for night viewing. :cool:
 
thanks for all the input :D i will be ordering a fp gauge this week. looks like maybe the Westach is the prefered :-laf



i still need to install my pyro, is it better before or after the turbo? :confused:
 
I have the Auto-meter F/P gauge and I love it, they look better and has been functioning perfectly for a year now. Only downside with the autometer is the price. I would definatly put your pyro before the turbo, in the exhaust manifold.
 
I like VDO vision series. always have liked VDO and autometer gauges.

add green filter condoms and it is a perfect match. love the screw on backs. bright through gauge lighting.





BOOST GAUGE OVER STEERING WHEEL IS NOT VISION, it is now a green lamp. but dimmer older gauge.

I have the Isspro EV EGT, Boost and FP. Awesome night display, very clean look. Geno's doesn't carry the FP, you can order it from Isspro with a mechanical isolator. Easy hook up, very accurate. I've had them in for 6 months, no problems. As for the others. Westach, didn't like the look. Autometer, hard to see at night but nice looking. Dipricol, my second choice. Good luck.

If you do a search on this subject, you will find a lot of information. The advantage of the probe before the turbo is you get real time accurate temps. The advantage after is that you get to monitor the temp of the turbo, for cool down, and you won't have to worry about the very remote possiblility of the probe breaking and going through the turbo blades. This is very unlikely, but some don't want to take the chance. Just remember, if you install it after the turbo, your temps that you read are lower then the actual temps. Have fun... :)
