new Dodge suv

Guys eye gets popped out of its socket!!

The wife wants a new T. V. probably about a 50 - 60 inch. It probably won't be top of the line, but not the very bottom either. We have found a few for around 2200. 00 - 3000. 00 dollars that have a fairly decent picture. Does anyone have any opinions on what brand to get? Thanks in advance for your replies!

Don't get a plasma I have heard that the life expectancy is only about 5 years. I have always had good luck with Sony.

We use Sharp LCD displays in the aircraft displays that we build at work. Obviously the aircraft quality displays come from a different division of Sharp than their consumer displays, but it shows that Sharp knows something about building LCD displays. I have a Sharp 15" LCD in my RV and am very pleased with it. When I shop for a home unit, they will be on the "short list".

The current 8th and 9th generation plasmas have a life expectancy of around 60k hours of use.

If you are interested in plasma check out the AV forums site, the Panasonic 42" and 50" are pretty much considered the best in the price range mentioned, and a good value. You should be able to get the 50" for around $3k, the model numbers are TH-50PX50U for the 50" and TH-42PX50U for the 42"

We went the ED (enhanced definition) route... ... Panasonic "42. $1700 Love it.

FWIW, ED gives you an awesome picture, no it's not HD, but you can't tell the difference at 12-15 feet on the couch. Considering most everything is not HD yet, ED makes sence.

I saw a Sharp AQUOS LCD TV at Best Buy a few months ago and the picture was awesome. Here it is on their website: Sharp AQUOS

The salesman said that the backlight should last 2-3 years but if you buy the repair plan it includes one free replacement.

I have a 32" Sharp TV that I have had for five years with no problems.

I have a 57" Toshiba HD. Works great and has a good picture for the price. Next time I think I'll be going with the Mitsubishi Diamond version blah blah blah.

I have a 62" mitsubishi DLP in the family room and a 52" mitsu DLP in the bedroom. Love em. these are the 3rd and 4th mitsubishis i have owned and have had great luck with all of them.

I ended up going with a 62'' Toshiba DLP 1080p. I shouldn't say I, I should say the wife ended up with it. I am more excited about getting a goerend triple disc for my CTD! Thanks again for your replies!
