Justin,

With the lower compression and the timing that you are running that is normal. You could back the timing down to about 16* and it would white smoke less and start better. Have fun!

hello.

hay J. R I know that is what u told me. I dident mean to step over you advise. just seeing what evry one else had to say about it. I just cant wate untill summer so I can attempt to try to pull it. The motor is running good, I got the oil leak fixed by milling the inside of the valve covers so the studs would not hit them. See u around And thanks again for the good work. Justin

SFrey,

White smoke is generally cause by unburned fuel(black smoke is partially burned fuel, and blue is generally lube oil, and sometimes fuel additives). In this case it looks like a combination of a cold engine, low compression pistons and nozzles with a heavy stream causing a lot of unburned fuel out the tailpipe. That unburned fuel can make it to the cylinder walls and get in the crankcase oil. Is it bad? Well, there's probably a little less lube on the cyl walls and diluted motor oil. I would be willing to bet that any excess wear it causes would be less than the wear caused by taking advantage of the mods. In other words... If you're not worried about the mods causing excess wear, don't worry about the smoke causing excess wear.
