Good News: Chrysler to be exchanged...

Is this a 4wd only thing? Also, is it when you are turning? If so, you are just seeing the effects of the tires traveling different distances and needing to skid.

The other thing that you might be seeing is axle wrap related to your tires getting traction, then losing it and cycling like that. Generally, if you back out of the power just a tiny bit so you stop spinning, it will go away.

I also get it, and I thought it was axle wrap too. 2WD it only comes from the rear, but in 4X4 you can feel it front and back. Only in deep snow though.

It's front axle wrap and next thing that has to happen is back tires start spinning 'cuz they can't cover ground any faster than the hopping front end then next the LS rear end causes back end to go sideways since both rear wheels will be turning and if you're on narrow street with parked cars both sides... ,

This last week was my first time trying to push thru 12-16 inches very wet heavy slush/snow on narrow parked in streets.

Best solution to stay in straight line was shift to 4L and slowly munch thru.

Then it stayed straight fairly well if there was slow front wheel spin as long as no hop but shift to 4H and bit of axle hop and back end just wouldn't want to stay straight.
