What chip will give the best mpg improvment?

A buddy of mine has a 2004. 5 dually and is seeing 12. 5 mpg steady,my truck is in the 17 to 18 area. I am assuming it is better because of the mods. Is there one chip that can give a significant improvment in mileage?I am assuming a chip with a lot of timing advance and some pressure increase would be the best.

TST or Edge Juice would probably net your best milage increase. Matt's solution should be tried first though if it applies.

I like my TST but I'll try to tell you the truth. Find you a simple install plugin box that will give you 40-60hp and then keep your foot off the floor.

A small pressur/timming box or a small add fuel/timming box? Would rokktech crank sensor with small 40,60 pressur/timming box be stackable?

Buy a 2nd gen 2wd...



J/K. I wouldn't trade my '03 for a second gen. But I am about to put my 285's on to get me back to 19mpg on the highway.

I could (before I lifetd it) get 20 mpg or better on the highway all the time with my 03. That is if I kept it down below 70. 22mpg at 60 mph. I averaged 20. 2 through a 7000 mile trip across the country last year, all hand calculated.

It is possible (see my signature), even on a stock truck. That was the first tank I was able to manage to not stomp the throttle very often, and make nice easy starts.

I'm going to add the TST, a cat test pipe and MBRP muffler to this machine (once I can get over my fear of bursting my stupid plastic POS intercooler, or more likely simply accept it's going to happen and move on)... I suspect on more extended trips it has the potential of improving. This current tank I expect about 18. 5 or so, since I've been having a harder time staying out of the throttle.
