ok the south bend i have listed below, i do not have. im running the stock one on a wing and a preyer, and doing pretty good at it. i was intending to get the south bend. down at gordyville i got talking to brad from schied, he said if i pull with it be ready to whip it out of gear at the end of the track and get ready to work on it, he said get a mcloed. i also talked to bill from extreme diesel performance also and he said run the haisley street puller. i always read that south bend was the way to go, what do you guys think?

My bro has an 02' ETH with 400 RWHP and runs the Luk cerametallic, it's good for 550 HP and 1100 torque. You can get the conversion to 13'' and the Luk clutch in a combo kit for around a thousand dollars including a new flywheel. He's pulled a sled with it too, holds very well.

I don't think there is a better clutch out there than Haisley's. They're built and tested by people who own and pull them. They are proven both on the track and on the street. I haven't seen any top trucks running a SB.

You are a dumb *** if you are trying to pull with a manual. When you get some real power, you might think about going with an ats auto trans. Your bigger pullers pull with auto's HE HE

Opinions are like ********, everybody has one and most of them stink :D I run a SB 3850 12 button Ceramic clutch and it works just fine, I know jwilliams3 has one, sleddy had one until he sold his truck, bigbaddodge has one, they all seem to do pretty good with them. Call Peter at southbend and talk to him, call Haisleys and call EEP, talk to them about their clutches. I went with the SB because of the good comments I heard about them on here, about their durability, their street manners, and other things. I tried to call one of the other vendors about their clutch and they didn't return my call. I ended up talking to a performance shop that is well know around here and they steered towards the SB even though they carried other brands because of the success they had been having with the SB and the troubles that they had had with other models. To each his own, I am happy with my SouthBend

i hope you guys that were having spazums and burning eyes can feel better now. i dont know how i did it.

like i said i have worked on fulpowers truck a lot, there not much stock left, i know the stuff im running will dyno around 550 rwhp, proven by fulpower, cuz it all his old stuff. i would almost lay money down that his truck will go over 750 rwph. stock it a funny word!

I agree with this comment, I have the same clutch in my truck [99 5 speed] & tow 7 ton everyday & never slipped it once. Only thing is if you get one, make sure you use the washers on the bolts, my friend lost one because he didn't put the washers on & tried pulling a sled. I also love the pedal, it feels stock & is rated higher than southbend too. 550hp & 1200 lb ft.

it going to be a double disk, no mater what. i plan on making, say 10-12 hooks at the county fairs next year. the hp i have now is maxing out a single disk clutch, i could get by just driving it but, ill destroy it pulling. and being a daily driver for work, i want to be albe to make a hook on friday and not have to work on it all weekend so i can make it wo work on monday

I'll tell you now, if you call peter, he will say double disk. been there, done that. His exact words were "some guys can get away with it & others can't, it matters how you treat it" & "if you are gonna sled pull, I'd go double disk, but they can be a little tricky backing up a trailer" If I were gonna do 10- 12 hooks a year, I would go deuce.
