Hi, wondering what coolant I should use in my 01 24v truck. I hear there is coolant meant for use in gas engines and some meant for diesels. Any help is appreciated, thanks!
Havoline extended life concentrated mixed with distilled water. Have used Havoline since I bought the truck in April 1998. These engines do not have sleeves so nothing special is needed.
Though not written for Cummin's Diesel Engines, check out this link: http://www.pedrosgarage.com/Site_5/Coolant_Antifreeze.html A very good, simple explanation about coolant. A Cummins with its iron block and head needs nothing special, just the original Ethylene Glycol. If you choose to use OAT or HOAT in you Cummins, drain, flush and fully replace the original IAT coolant. Mixing coolant types can be a major issue.
