Man I guess this post has rubbed someone the wrong way! Did I say that Scheid wasn't going to take a look at the problem? Just wondering!

NAH - it isn't that - it's just that I see a fair number of customer rants against various suppliers with enough supporting info that it's clear that their unhappiness and expectations are pretty far out in left field - these threads then place the affected supplier in what is often an untrue and unfair light that is hard to take back and make right.

If I experienced a situation like yours (and I HAVE!;)), I'd be disappointed too - but VERY relieved that the outfit represented was willing to step up and make it right - as I assume Sheids will.

It's clearly unfortunate - and an inconvenience to you - but sometimes that's just the way it is... :(

I understand Dustin. I'm sure they'll make it right too. Scheids has been in business a long time and have some world class pulling trucks out there. They obviously know what they're doing and their reputation precedes them. It's just the whole down time and inconvenience that bites.

If it is a failed part that's understandable but, shoddy workmanship isn't. Which ever it is though... . I don't think they're so big for their britches that they won't take care of you.

Did they do a engine dyno before it went back in the truck ? If not, did they tell you about any kind of break in period ? I wonder if they left the valves a little loose on purpose for break in and they were a little too loose causing them to eat into the seal??

I know you said they used their cam and springs. You would think they'd have it right but, if they weren't matched to each other, there could be play in the valves that should be there ???

Well they found some bad valve seals (which wasn't hard to tell) but their fix leaves me with little confidence in the motor. Slap some news seals on it and sent it on it way? What about all the crap in the motor that I found? Pieces of chewed up seal in the filter, that went thru the oil pump, what about the crap in the lifter bores etc. I guess that when I paid $10-12k in just the motor I don't really want a bunch of crap in my motor. And I want a answer as to why this happend! What happens in a few months when something plugs a piston cooler or scars a bearing. Then whos fault is it? And if you have a problem with seals either falling apart or something wouldn't you change all of them just to make sure that you didn't get a bad run of seals? I'm just getting sick of all the run around, couldn't be our fault, haven't ever seen this before, could be bad seals, maybe happened when installed... .....
