What did you do for Labor Day?

Well after closeing the building Sunday night at about midnight, I had to drive home 30 miles, get a couple hours of sleep, get up and drive back to open the building at 6:30am. This means the front doors open at 6:30, means I had to be there even earlier. Kinda sucked.



The nice thing about opening up is that you just sit there with nothing to do. MILKING that time clock.

I went to work at 8 am on Saturday and didn't get off till 8 am Tuesday.



I actually prefer working weekends and holidays. Much less crowded when everyone is at work.

July 4th, Memorial and Labor days weren't made with farmers in mind, come at the busiest time of the year, can't remember ever having the whole day off. Just wait till December, January and February, then I get Labor months off.

Wouldn't it just be nice to get up one day and not have to feed, muck, give medicine, go on vacation without asking who is gonna take care of, just get up and go without another thought? Am looking forward to the day when the last 2 hay bags are gone. Will probably loose one during the winter if the owner doesn't put it down before then.

Went to the mountain and backfilled my well house"by shovel", insulated the roof, and cut down and limbed three beetle killed pine. Going back up this weekend and cutting down nine more and spraying "Damn beetles".....
