What did you think of the reactions of the Talladega fans Sunday?



I for one thought it pretty childish and rude.



At least it was a great race up to that point. The only restrictor plate race I've watched all the way threw in 2 years and it was awesome.



Just curious what other fans thought.



By the way I'm not a Gordon fan. Actually I'm a Stewart fan so I would have been screwed either way.

Well, people come and travel, spend money to see a race, not see a race end under caution. If I was there , I would have been jacked as well. Nascar doesnt understand what the people want. But as long as people continue buying the tickets, Nascar wont have to change anything.



Although I, as well as many other fans, wanted to see Jr. win again, it is always a race to the finish at this track and the fans should have been giving what they paid for. I thought everyone in the stands should have flipped off the tower to let them know there dissatisfaction, instead of throwing things out on the track.

Boneheads!!!

Just because you pay for a seat to watch the race doesn't entitle you to act like a bonehead. Obviously a finish like that is a letdown but even if Nascar wanted to change their minds and have a green flag finish, they couldn't have as the litter on the track made that impossible.

I couldn't tell if they were throwing stuff because they gave the lead to Gordon before freezing the field, or because they finished under caution, or both, or if they even knew why they were throwing stuff. For whatever reason I think it was a classless move.



I wanted Jr. to win because I picked him before the race, but I'm happy for Gordon. There's only two drivers I don't like, and it doesn't bother me if they win.

Green, white, checkered = no can throwing. After decades of races you would think that NASCAR would have figured that out by now. Its not something I would do, but how do you get NASCAR's attention?

That is the million dollar question, but what happened at this race is definetly not the answer. Funny thing is that in the truck series, they never finish that way. If the track can't be cleared in the remaining official laps, they run them around at caution lap speed(laps to not count) until the track is cleared and have a green/white/checkered finish. Two sets of rules sure seems strange to me.

The green/white/checkers is a good idea but one thing you have to think about with lengthning a race like Dega is those guys are cutting the fuel millage so close there is a good possiblity that some if not most will run out of fuel. So if they lengthen the race for a green/white/checkers finish then they will have to make up one more rule to let the guys come in and take on fuel without loosing possisions.



Boy I'm glad I'm not Nascar.

That was a sorry way to end a race. If the track was clear, let em go! If they are going to run it to the end with caution out, then the race is already decided and why bother to run the remaining laps at all. What a joke! That or Gordon's team owner decided to buy the race. And the throwing of debris on the track didn't start until it was announced that they would end it under caution. I don't blame them a bit.

I was &$&%%$ pi$$ed off! I couldnt watch Gordon finish under caution. If I woulda had tickets this time I woulda nailed his car with a bottle fer good. Everybody knew Jr. woulda whooped Gordy. I aint never been so furriated at a finish. But the party sat nite was good down at Talledega.

Under the current rule, spelled out in the NASCAR rule book, and explained to the drivers before every race, the race finished as it should!



A rule change needed - maybe. I personally think NASCAR has some goofy rules. They got the money, they make the rules!



But for most of us people that live by the rules, the race ended as it was spelled out in the rule book.



Without rules, where would society be?

I hate Gordon and was mad that they ended the race that way Jr. would have one, which makes me more mad. The bottles and crap was wrong!!!
