I am going to regear my 94 truck, due to tire size. I want to install one of the hub conversion kits at the same time. Since I would have lockouts, thinking about installing a different differential. I have a Detroit soft locker for the rear. Any suggestions for the front. Thought about another Detroit or an ARB air locker. Thanks.

The Air locker has SO many additional components, an air compressor, lines, dash switches, drilling the diff cover.

A second Detriot would be so much easier, right?

Another Detroit would be great. ARBs work really well, too. Being able to turn it on and off is really handy. For lower cost and convenience of not having to reset backlash, a Lockright would work well as long as you aren't running huge tires.

The truck has 38" tires on it, so the Lockright is probably out. Took your advice and found a good deal on another Detroit soft locker. Now I just need to decide on what brand of hub conversion to go with. Thanks.

Yes, the Dynatrac is spendy. I have been looking pretty hard at the EMS hub conversion kit, along with their CAD delete axle kit. I was on another site where there is alot of feedback on the EMS kit. Sounds like there are alot of happy people that have installed the EMS kits on their trucks.

Four Wheel Parts seems to be the main distributor for Dynatrac. If you work them over you can probably get the kit for $1900. Get on the email list for Four Wheel Parts as wells so you can keep up with the latest specials. Four Wheel Parts is definitely feeling the pain of the economy and is working hard to drum up business. I think the Dynatrac has hubs that are not quite as wide as the other conversion kits. I've had my Dynatrac kit since about March.
