2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission What Do I Do With It?

I finally got the steering column gauge mount from Geno's and saw with my own eyes that the Westach fuel pressure guage I hoped to mount in it won't work I'm looking for something to put in it. I like the mount and will stick a clock in it if I have to



I'm currently using a Westach Combo alone on the pillar. I can mount the fuel pressure guage in the cubby hole, so what do I need that I can put in the column mount?

PS - Maybe one of you guys can design a new panel that fits the back of the steering wheel that will clear the Westach gauge.

Why is it that it won't fit? I was going to suggest the same thing - try to make it fit somehow. Cut the back out if you need to.

The ad for the mount specifically states that the Westach's won't fit in it (at least the most current copy of Geno's does). I believe the dimensions are just too small for the Westach gauges.

I have a Westach fuel pressure gage from Genos mounted in mine and it scrapes the back side of the steering wheel when you turn. The front of the Westach just sticks out further than most gages. It barely touchs and you don't hardly notice it but it does contact the steering wheel.

I stuck the gauge into the mount and held it in place while turning the steering wheel. When the plastic at the back of the wheel hit the guage, it seemed to push the whole assembly back. If it will only slightly scrape the gauge, maybe I'll reconsider and try it. Maybe I can use a die grinder on the wheel plastic to knock it down enough to clear.



KPENRIGHT - when you drilled for the plastic rivets, were you concerned about hitting some wires and stuff in there?



I've thought about heating up the plastic mount enough to roll it back, at the gauge opening, so the gauge will sit deeper in the mount.

Sorry Doc Tinker, I was AWOL yesterday. I didn't drill at all, I used the 3M double back tape that came in my kit. I have had it on since early July and it is doing just fine. Had to do some trimming around the key area to make it fit better though when I first installed it. When you turn the wheel it does push the gage back a bit, I am considering swapping with one of my pillar mounted gages.
